The score is a weighted aggregate across 12 dimensions covering customer experience, data quality, real-time accuracy, analytics, accessibility, brand consistency, integration, and compliance. The industry average is 29/100 across 300+ institutions we have audited. Anything above 70 is considered best-in-class; below 30 indicates material customer-experience and revenue leakage risks.
Our benchmark dataset is drawn from anonymised audits of banks, SACCOs, MFIs, telcos, and retail networks across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Egypt, South Africa, and seven other markets. Scores are weighted by institution size and customer-base profile so the comparison is fair. We do not disclose individual scores — only aggregates.
If you don't know an answer, that itself is a useful signal. We have designed the options so that an honest "I don't know" maps to a realistic baseline assumption. The score will still be directionally accurate. If you want, you can save the audit, consult your team, and finish later — your progress persists in this browser.
It is genuinely free and independent. The score uses the same 12 dimensions we use for paying clients in our paid assessments — we have just packaged it as a free benchmark to help institutions get a baseline. If your score is high, we will say so and recommend simply optimising. If it is low, we will tell you exactly what to fix, including options that do not involve our platform.
The benchmark dataset is refreshed quarterly. The current dataset includes audits completed between January 2024 and the most recent quarter. As mobile UX, real-time data, and analytics expectations have risen, the industry average score has actually dropped slightly over time — institutions that were "good enough" three years ago no longer are.
Yes. Once you complete the audit, you can request a personalised PDF report. It includes your overall score, breakdown across all 12 dimensions, industry comparison, and a prioritised list of recommended improvements. The report is formatted to be shareable in a board pack.
The compliance dimension covers Central Bank of Kenya (CBK/PG/15), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Bank of Tanzania (BOT), Bank of Uganda (BOU), National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), Bank of Ghana (BOG), and the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). It also covers GDPR, POPIA (South Africa), Kenya DPA, and NDPR (Nigeria) for data protection.
